Membership sites have become very popular among internet marketers over the last year. The reason is they can provide you with a recurring income month after month, instead of a one-off payment which you may get from an ebook.
All the top internet marketers use membership sites, starting with a low-end product such as an e-book, them moving their subscribers through the funnel to a higher-value product, and then hopefully, once they are hooked, getting them to sign up to their private coaching courses through a membership site.
But setting up your own membership site has a number of challenges.
Firstly you need to have a product or service that you can deliver month after month. You need to provide new content and new value to your subscribers.
- Secondly you need to have ways to keep your members subscribed once they have signed up. They are only going to part with their $47 or $97 per month if they feel they are getting value for money.
- Third, you need to have membership site software running. Many people use Amember, but there are a number of other options. Furthermore you will face a learning curve using the software and working out how best to set up and deliver your product or service each month.
